Lena Darlene Matejka, 85, of Staunton died at Community Hospital of Staunton, on Friday, November 16, 2018. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 24, 1933 in Dorchester Township, a daughter of the late Elijah and Ida (Adams) Fletcher. She married Edward L. Matejka on March 15, 1952. He proceeded her in death on November 17, 2006. In her early years, she worked at Brown Shoe Company. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to God and her family. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters, Jill (Jeff) Whitfield, Robin Matejka (Don Cleveland), four grandchildren Nicki (Bruce) Striegel, Allison and Sam Whitfield, and Korenne Cleveland; and three great grandchildren Bailey, Emerson and Graham Striegel, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by four brothers, James Fletcher, Delmar Fletcher, Donald (Doris) Fletcher, Robert (Erika) Fletcher and three sisters, Hazel (Paul) Schrier; Fern (Frank) Kreyling, and Grace (Norman) Randle.
No formal services will be held.
Memorials can be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ Pak-a-Sak program or the Masonic Temple, both in Staunton.
