Elvio "Alo" Fassero, 105, of Benld, IL, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 11:43 am. He was born November 25, 1914, in Benld, IL to Benedetto Fassero & Flavia (Audo) Fassero. He married Juanita M. (Hall) Fassero on June 3, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2006. He was retired from his family's shell oil distributorship and then at the age of 70 he began a horse breeding operation for the next 30 years. He was a veteran after having served WWII. He was the founder of the Sportsman Club in Mt. Clare. He was a bee keeper, photographer, avid gardener, and a lover of trees and animals. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Fassero, sons, Ben (Connie) Fassero, Allen (Jeanine) Fassero, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Elvio was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Anton Fassero, John Fassero, Arthur Fassero and sister, Marguerite Bertoglio. Private services will be held with burial in Benld Cemetery.
